More good news? The vets are confident that they can make her well again and that's all we needed to hear. The good news that came out of today? She DOES NOT have pancreatitis. She also has a mass on her right flank and needs to be spayed. The diagnosis - MAMMARY TUMORS-both chains (it's breast cancer in dogs) As if that wasn't enough, she also has marked gingival proliferative growths (her mouth is covered with gingival growths). Sasha's wonderful foster mom took her to Tufts Veterinary Hospital in Grafton, MA today to meet with some amazing doctors. Today, we found out just how serious her condition is and what it's going to take to get this beautiful girl healthy again. We knew when she came into rescue, that she had some medical issues that needed to be addressed. She's been in foster care a a few months now. This does not include any boarding or foster expenses.This is SASHA. ![]() *These are the costs for healthy dogs, based on weight and age. Microchips are free through Home Again's Chips for Free program. $18-44/dog/day for kennel boarding, depending on where boarding is needed and available. Please Foster, Fund or be a Forever Home. We continue to receive 2-5 owner surrenders a week, along with multiple pleas from surrounding shelters for Boxers in need. So many Boxer are coming from families that are no longer able to financially care for them, just don't want them, many are dealing with illness or the Boxer's pet parent has passed away, and many just are moving. Without the funding or foster homes, sadly we have to turn away these surrenders. The number of Boxers being surrendered and in the shelters is overwhelming. ![]()
